IBM launched the first personal computer in 1983, which has changed our daily life and business operations. This in turn triggered the revolutionary and miraculous development of information industries. Later, with the liberalization of telecommunication industries, the development and replacement of the global telecommunication infrastructure was accelerated. Likewise, free competition and constant advances in technology and services have resulted in continuous growth in telecommunication industries.

For the past 20 years, Computer & Communication (C&C) has been the ideal of the members of the information and communication industries. Unfortunately, due to timing issues and the lack of connections between differing specialties in the two industries, C&C has remained just an ideal, an empty slogans for the past two decades. However, the rapid progress in computer and communication technologies of late has changed all that by bringing about the convergence of computers and communication. Now, we can say confidently that C&C is the name of the new telecommunication era.

Taiwan, despite its small size, is home to world-renowned information industries. The newly built telecommunication industries need to rapidly combine the strength of both information and telecommunication industries in order to take a significant share of the global market. The management team of The UniGate Group, with experience in both information and telecommunication industries, have been fortunate enough to have witnessed and participated in the tremendous growth of the information industries and even more fortunate to be on the verge of experiencing the rebirth of the telecommunication industries.

In anticipation of the coming of the future telecommunication era, The UniGate Group, under its management philosophies - diversified specialization, resource-sharing, industrial cooperation and win-win solutions and its position of Neutral Aggregator - expects to gather fellow colleagues in both information and telecommunication industries work towards an unified vision of the future telecommunication era.
