The first time in the Republic of China that private business were permitted to resell telecommunication services was in 1995. At that time, the Datacom Institute of Telecommunication General Bureau of MOTC openly recruited its agents for data communication service. UniGate was one of the 7 agents approved in the first round. After stepping into telecommunication service distribution, UniGate devoted itself wholeheartedly into this field and began learning valuable knowledge and experience in all aspects from the marketing process. It then moved from a single brand agency to a multi-brand business model in data communication services in 1997.

Between 1999 and 2000, in the process of liberalization, the government deregulated fixed satellite, fixed network and circuit resell services. The UniGate Group then actively secured the right to resell various telecommunication services from different licensed service operators.

During 2001, the telecommunication industries will be fully deregulated with the convergence of various information services. The mix of merchandises among telecommunication and information services industries will become very complicated. Thus, simplifying the complexity of the merchandise selection to offer an easily understood way to buy and sell in the sales channel as well as to consumers is a major entry barrier of new telecommunication and information services in this 21st century's knowledge-based economy.

Ever since it began reselling bandwidth service, The UniGate Group has been focusing mainly on broadband services. It continuously researches and develops the product mix of broadband application. From the point of application, the merchandise combinations are several of omni-form. When cut in from the bandwidth angle, the merchandise mix is even more so. Nevertheless, The UniGate Group, in a timely fashion, is able to package the complicated services of telecommunication and information industries into simple, easily comprehendible, high quality yet reasonably priced merchandise combinations, to move through UniGate Channel to consumers and to ultimately create win-win solutions.

The broadband services that The UniGate Group represents are multi-brand and can be divided into circuits and traffics services as described in the diagrams. Selection of circuit and network services is closely related to the application. The same goes for geographical environment, cost and speed. Hence, the complexity of the broadband services stated herewith is far beyond our imagination. (Picture 3.)
